Dr. Christopher Uggen
Memorial Fund
Before Chris got very ill with brain cancer, he was intimately involved in the start-up of a new preschool in Richland, MI (September of 2020), which is now “Little Hands Montessori”. Working behind the scenes, Chris attended board meetings as a visitor, gave highly valued advice, made large monetary donations, and built furniture for the school. Chris has always believed in the gift of education, and in equal access to high quality education for all children, and he often talked about the sensitive time of learning and brain development when children are young. He loved his children to “infinity and beyond”, as he always told them.
Little Hands Montessori is now thriving with 18 children enrolled. The school is renting a room from Living Hope Community Church for the time being. However, this is only a temporary solution. We are dreaming of building a schoolhouse in Richland for future generations to attend. This will be a highly impactful gift to future children and our community at large. We envision to build and to raise $100,000.
May Dr. Christopher Uggen be forever remembered with the building of this school.
Love & Gratitude,
